Highlights from the Community Council Meeting July 2026
Due to the resignation of Cllr Lisa Overington, the council are currently advertising to fill the vacancy by Co-option. Please see our website for more information and how to apply.
The Best Kept Community entries were all viewed by the assessors on 22nd June and the announcements will be made at the Day of Celebration - Fest Day on 11th July, 11am Penyffordd War Memorial Institute. All welcome to the event.
Another busy meeting for planning applications where 7x were reviewed and considered.
The council are supporting Woodswork in the showing of the ‘National Emergency Climate Change Briefing’. Two sessions will be held at the Penyffordd War Memorial Institute.
Saturday 11th July at 2pm and Monday 13th July at 7pm
The assessment for the communities entry to Wales in Bloom will be undertaken 15th July.
Extremely disappointing to report there has been vandalism to the cycle repair station at The Millstone Play Area. The replacement parts were approx £400, however, the council has managed to repair. The police have been informed and CCTV is being reviewed.
The council are still working towards taking on the land lease for the Millstone Allotments.

The council are in recess for August and therefore the date of the next meeting will be 9th September 2026
