There are currently 10 recreation areas in our community, soon to become 11:

West View
Owned and maintained by Flintshire County Council. The Community Council have some funds available for potential improvements on this site.

Meadowslea
Owned and maintained by the Meadowslea management company

Abbots Lane (Community School site)
Owned and maintained by Flintshire County Council. The sports field is an adult-sized football pitch and is a community asset with new changing rooms nearly completed (part funded by the football club), Flintshire County Council and Penyffordd Community Council.

Millstone Play Area
Owned and maintained by Penyffordd Community Council. Includes a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), outdoor gym, skate park and play equipment. There is also a non-regulation football pitch.

Ffordd Derwyn Play Area
Owned and maintained by Flintshire County Council.


Groves Play Area
Owned and maintained by Flintshire County Council using funds from Taylor Wimpey.
Includes the youth-sized football pitch.

Old School Site (Penymynydd Road)
The old school playing field has a non-regulation football pitch and open space. This remains part of Flintshire Education stock and is not available to us at this time.

Melwood Play Area
Owned and maintained by Flintshire County Council. The Community Council have funds available for potential improvements on this site.

Millstone View (Redrow)
Flintshire County Council have instructed Redrow to install a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), similar to the one on the Millstone Play Area, we would like to understand what could better serve the needs of the new and existing residents when considered in context of the other play areas in the village.

Heritage Park (White Lion)
Owned and maintained by the Heritage Park management company.

Dobshill Play and Dobshill MUGA
The playground site is owned by the Hawarden Estate and leased on a peppercorn rent by the Community Council, is maintained by Flintshire County Council and includes a MUGA on a separate site and a non-regulation football pitch. The Community Council have funds available for potential improvements on this site.
