Highlights from the Community Council AGM & Meeting May 2026

  • Cllr Sloan was voted as the 2026/27 Chair and Cllr Williams for the 2026/27 Vice Chair.

  • There is still time to submit your entry for Best Kept Community - Plants, Pots and Displays (PPD). Closing date: 31st May 2026.  The entry form can be accessed on our website or by scanning the QR code.

  • Community Engagement

    o   Drop In Event - Saturday 23rd May, 10.30 – 12noon Royal British Legion

    o   Penyffordd Carnival – Saturday 20th June

    o   Best Kept Community Day of Celebration – 11th July

  • Highway Safety – A report of the works for outside St John the Baptist School was very welcomed, however, it does not go far enough to improve safety and further works to redesign the road infrastructure in needed.  The council will continue to lobby for further works.

    A site meeting has been held with FCC Highways who are going to review possible options for improvements to the top of Penymynydd Road.

  • A Working Group is being formed to review the need for business premises within the village to assist the council in lobbying FCC to provide appropriate land.

  • Date of the next meeting – 10th June 2026
