Message from the Chair re: Flooding

FLOODING

Over the last few days we have once again seen extreme weather conditions affecting the village and surrounding area.

As a Community Council we acknowledge the impact this has had on the community and the many concerns you have about continued flooding in our area.

Firstly, we would like to thank all who helped out during the adverse conditions on Friday and to thank our County Councillors and Groundsman (Chris) who, during this time, worked tirelessly in support of the village and those most affected. It was heartening to see the community pulling together to help out where needed.

It is important to note too the role played by our County Councillors as they provide the vital links between ourselves and Flintshire County Council together with the water companies.

We are equally frustrated and appreciate how important it is to have answers and actions to resolve this which this week again saw many areas under water and contaminated water running down our roads. It is unacceptable and whilst it may only occur during heavy rainfall we know that it rains alot.

Our role as community council together with our county councillors is to reflect the views of the community and keep pressing for it to be resolved. We are aware that various options are being actively explored and we will keep you updated.

Please contact community council or our County Councillors should you have any further concerns.
